Welcome Graeme Earl
Leighs Construction is delighted to welcome Graeme Earl, as the company's new Operations Manager.
Graeme is no stranger to the local construction scene, having been engaged on major projects in and around the province for more than 25 years. He has recently completed a two-year term as President of the Canterbury Registered Master Builders Association and been on its executive for more than seven years.
A proud Cantabrian, Graeme is looking forward to his work with Leighs Construction, particularly projects on the rebuild of Christchurch.
"This is a very exciting time to be involved in the construction industry. Leighs has been leading the rebuilding work, resulting in a number of significant construction opportunities arising. I am really privileged to now have the opportunity to work within this talented team and look forward to playing a major part in the rebuild of our great city."
Previous projects which Graeme has either project managed or been Operations Manager for include the initial 1994 building of Riccarton Mall (now Westfield) and the following 2004 expansion projects, Terrace on the Park (one of the city's largest apartment blocks), Burwood Hospital Surgical Services Building, Canterbury Charity Hospital, and more recently the new Air New Zealand Regional lounge at Christchurch Airport and the new Oncology and Women's Hospital Expansion projects at Christchurch Hospital.
He enjoys the multi-challenges which arise from working with stakeholders and staff, and says he has a "hands on" approach to problem solving.
Away from work Graeme spends as much time as possible with his young family, follows every sport, plays social golf (not very well) and enjoys gardening.
